The 506th recipient is Pilar Trujillo of Viva Vida in Chimayo NM. Pilar writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Self-care and well being mean the ability for me to tend ancestral land and continue land-based traditions! To be in my strength and vitality physically, mentally and spiritually so that I can continue to walk this path of stewardship regardless of what comes to pass.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I would get some much needed bodywork!”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "Wellness funds for bodywork feels so critical. Creating reciprocal relationships and connections within community and other BIPOC land stewards is equally as critical.”
