The 367th recipient is Pamela Ronson of Seedfolx Farm in Detroit, MI. Pamela writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “A day relaxing with a massage for my tired and sore muscles, particularly in my back and shoulders. I carry so many heavy items around on my farm day in and day out, and it puts a lot of wear and tear on my muscles so for me, just a nice spa day so I can feel relaxed sounds like heaven. I can feel refreshed and relaxed, happy and comforted, just knowing that my body is recovering and healing from the physical demands of this past growing season. After getting a massage, my body and mind can feel refreshed and ready to farm again, to grow nutritious and affordable food for my neighbors and community.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “Massage for my back and shoulders! That would be incredible! Then I can recover, rest, and heal my body and feel refreshed to begin anew this spring.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "Just taking care of my body! Honestly! I love farming because I’m a kinesthetic learner and I have to be moving and working outside, but I also wince at the physical demands and stressors that my body endures during the growing season. I nurture others so much that I forget to take care of myself, of my most precious asset, the very tool that enables me to take care of others and grow good for their bodies!”
