What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Basically not letting stress build up and start causing health problems for one, also having a good pair of boots that provide comfort to your feet and having clothes to wear on and off the farm.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “After going through Hurricane Helene it would be nice to go to a good restaurant or purchase some new shirts and pants. Going out of town for a couple days to get some much needed rest would be awesome!”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "The most important need currently is some new clothes and boots, I was in contaminated mud and water for several days helping clean up after Helene, I wore old clothes and did not want to put them in the washing machine so they went in the trash. Even though they were old clothes, I still have to replace them at some point rather than be short on clothes.”
