The 517th recipient is Marguerite Josiah of Maranatha Mountain Farm in Madison, VA. Marguerite writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Being able to have the tools you need at hand to be efficient is necessary. There is a need to wear comfortable clothes and shoes in the field. After a days work a warm epsom salt bath is a wonderful treat before heading to bed and laying on a nice firm pillow under a luxurious down comforter.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “Seriously, I would ultimately get a tool belt to keep my hand tools close to me and be more efficient in the field. If there’s money left over I will get a bite to eat.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "Nourishment is essential for daily restoration to keep working strong.”
