The 454th recipient is Lydia Fischer of The Garden Farm in West Tisbury, MA. Lydia writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “It means either a massage or some acupuncture to help care for my body going into the impending busy season.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I would utilize it in these busy spring months for either a massage or some acupuncture. As a mostly solo farmer - I use my personal expenses to fund my farm projects and this time of year the self-care is limited to what I can afford or maybe wait for the off season.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "I think sleep and care of the body. I also quit drinking about 8 months ago and I’m excited to farm without that vice and the extreme exhaustion it brings.”
