The 483rd recipient is Katy Dickson of Christensens Farm in Browntown, WI. Katy writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “For me, I continuously have to remind myself that each farming season should have a good work life balance. There have been some growing seasons which have not had that balance at all and both my family as well as myself suffer.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I think my husband and I would put the $100 towards a family weekend away from the farm. It would help off-set the cost of a campsite or meal during our time away from the farm or it would pay for the person we hire to do our chores while we are gone.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "There is the feeling as a farmer that if you leave the farm everything will fall apart. The time away, however, offers a break from the daily stress and makes one realize how unique our way of life is and that in order to enjoy it we must get away from it sometimes.”
