What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Farming is a part of Self-care and well-being for me. Putting my hands in the soil instantly calms my nervous system and boosts my mood because  of the  mycobacterium vaccae. Also having access to fresh herbs, veggies, and fruits changes my microbiomes which has an effect on my brain. Maintaining that care by getting enough rest and keeping a balanced diet is a part of the care as well.”

How I might use this $100 self-care award: ”My self-care is buying seeds, tools, and a smoothie from a community smoothie shop called Wadada.”

Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "Because farming involves the body and a lot of physical work, health is extremely important. Getting rest and eating nourishing meals contribute the most.”
