What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Self-care is taking time to slow down, "treat yourself", and take a break from the normal routine of life that can sometimes wear us down. It's a way to recharge and regain motivation to continue doing the things we love in a sustainable fashion. For me in particular, this is getting time away from the farm that can be mentally and physically overwhelming at times. It's giving myself the freedom to momentarily leave the farm so I can come back refreshed!”

How I might use this $100 self-care award: ”One of the things I love is being off-grid. Besides being able to "get away," being off-grid gives me time to remove myself from social media (I deal with all our advertising/marketing). I would use the $100 award to pay for an off-grid cabin to spend a night away from the farm!”

Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "Personally, it is the mental fatigue - always worrying about making sales, always worrying if customers will come, keeping up with the social media accounts to keep customers engaged, etc. Self-care is allowing myself time to turn the brain off and not need to worry about those things!”
