What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “I feel that self care means being able to purchase a special food treat that is not normally in the household budget, doing something like going to a movie on a Friday night with your partner, or going out on a lunch date to get away from the farm.”

How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I will use it to go on a lunch date get away with my wife before the farming season gets busy.”

Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "I think that being able to get away from the farm and take your mind off of the responsibilities for a moment. I know that putting some distance between me and the farm is always helpful for me to recharge and get perspective.”
