The 475th recipient is Javier Aranda of Family Harvest Farms in Pittsburg, CA. Javier writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “It means making the most of the time I have on our farm each day. Ever since I started working at the farm it has given me a space to re-anchor myself to earth and lets me escape my clouded head. I've learned so much so far and the changes and accomplishments I can see make it all 10x better.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I would use the money to do something with my grandparents for a day because being with them usually helps with a lot of the things I’m dealing with.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "The only thing I would say I really need is good people around me while I work, a real positive and enriching space which I have - I love everyone on our farm.”
