What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “At Gentry Homestead, self care and well being are deeply woven in to the heart of our farming practice. As stewards of the land and caretakers of our animals, we’ve learned that maintaining our health and mental clarity is as essential to our success as nurturing our crops and livestock.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “We would use the $100 award to directly support our well being by investing in tools or resources that reduce the physical and mental demands of farming. For example, new gardening tools to ease the strain of daily tasks like planting, weeding and harvesting in the garden would be delightful. This would result in maintaining good health so we can continue to provide for our local community with produce.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "As a farmer, one of the most essential self care needs is finding moments of peace, quiet, and reflection. The demands of farming can be relentless and carving out time to recharge is crucial for maintaining balance and well being.”
