What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Making time to acknowledge successes, large or small. Connecting with animals on a social level or plants as they grow/bloom/yield. Walking the grounds (or portion) daily to take in the bigger picture. Getting off-farm to visit and share with other farmers. Seeking out new/different methods and equipment. Inviting farmers over to see your farm; you will learn from them as they learn from you. Rest. Rest. Rest. But also play; go out every now and again on a beautiful day/evening.”

How I might use this $100 self-care award: “A $100 award would be added to my self-care fund! I will match it with $100 and treat my family & friends to a lovely Sunday dinner. Nothing better than family & friends.”

Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "The best self care is listening to my body and acting accordingly. Deadline and goals be darned, if my body has been pushed too far (but nothing living at risk) then stop early to rest and reassess next step.”
