The 514th recipient is Emma Papasian of Chance Farm in Bozeman, MT. Emma writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “For me, self care is first and foremost getting enough sleep and eating well. To be able to farm all season long, I have to constantly take care of my body. Once I’m rested and nourished, self care looks like being able to afford new comfortable shoes when the old ones are worn to shreds, soaking in some hot springs, or maybe getting a massage at the end of the summer.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “The award would help me buy new comfortable shoes to work in.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "Being able to afford my own piece of a home someday would really help my well being.”
