The 490th recipient is David Jessie II of Jessie Farms in Sevierville, TN. David writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Being able to step away from the farm and spend time with my family and especially my young son. He turns 2 this year and every chance I get to spend time with him I take it. Which usually means I end up staying in and around the house until he goes to bed then I go work on the farm and do what needs to be done.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I'd take my wife and son out for a nice supper.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "To be honest the biggest help I could get is a financial advisor of sorts. Someone to help me figure out the taxes and how to better manage the money for the farm. That's the biggest stress is trying to stretch a nickel into a dollar to make sure I have enough feed for the winter for all the cattle and chickens.”
