The 270th recipient is Cory Stephenson of Timu Tele Farm @timutelefarm in Hilo, HI. Cory writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Self care is allowing myself to save that one beautiful tomato for my family and not sell it. Well being is drinking that Mamaki tea at the end of the day and not just packing it up to sell at the farmers market. We need to take care of ourselves and our families so that we can continue to grow food for our community and not burn out.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I would invest in kitchen ware to make medicine with the herbs I grow and the honey I harvest. That would help with my physical and mental well being.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: “The ability to make sure I am eating healthy food and taking care of my body.”
