What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “It means making sure I don’t get to the point of burn out. Balancing work and life. Not feeling guilty for taking a day off or treating myself to something that I feel like I can’t afford. Spending time doing something besides farming that brings me joy and peace.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I would love to get a massage so I can truly relax and give my body some extra healing through massage work. Being a farmer is obviously very taxing on the body, so getting a massage is an amazing way to help care for my hard working body.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: “Taking time off from farming. It’s easy to constantly feel like I have to be working on something farm related, but taking a day off and not doing anything on the farm is so important to my well-being.”
