What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Many farmers don’t leave work at the office or clock out for the day like other professions so it can be difficult to mentally disconnect farm work from personal time. Taking a mental health break often means physically leaving the farm/homestead to enjoy something non-farm related.”

How I might use this $100 self-care award: “My husband and I would use the $100 to enjoy something non-farm related like a sporting event or dinner and movie. It would allow us to enjoy quality time with each other and take a mental health break from the conversation and activities that often revolve around farm tasks.”

Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "Being able to enjoy activities outside of farming brings a balance and perspective that is necessary for farmers.”
