What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “This means taking a minute at the start of each day to express gratitude for the land, the animals and the people that make it all possible. It also means carving out time to move our bodies and self-regulate outside of regular farming tasks (including walks in the forest with the dogs, yoga and stretching, epsom salt soaks). This well-being must also be extended beyond the self to one another, inviting time for social interactions, shared meals, and conversation.”

How I might use this $250 self-care award: ”A much needed rolfing session!”

Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "Yoga! Making sure to turn into the self (mind and body) in order to become more stable, holistic and expansive. Regular stretching and strengthening of the body beyond the typical repetitive motions of farming.”
