What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Having meaningful work, feeling safe, speaking up when necessary, access to ongoing education and quality time either with loved ones or alone (hanging with my dogs and goats). Buying myself flowers or cooling with friends. A quiet meal with my husband.  Spending time planning my day before I get out of bed. Telling others I love them or acknowledging that something is well done.”

How I might use this $100 self-care award: “Take my dog to the beach with a picnic lunch (that someone else made) and spend the whole day.”

Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "Time away from the farm and being in a quiet place where no one needs me or expects something from me. I am managing 3 projects with deadlines as I am recovering from a serious accident that required me to learn to walk again. I have had to sell my goat herd because of the accident so there is a lot of grief from that necessity.”
