What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Self-care and well-being in the context of farming to me means maintaining a balance between the demands of caring for the land and personal health. Farming is rewarding, but physically and mentally it can be taxing. Self-care is needed to continue to be able to care for ourselves, our family and our businesses.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: ”I would use the $100 award to invest in a knee pad for comfort during long planting sessions. Additionally, I would consider putting some towards a day off to do something that I love to do and which helps to relieve stress.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "The most important self-care need as a farmer is physical and mental resilience.”
