What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Self-care and well-being in farming means finding balance between physical labor, mental clarity, and emotional resilience. As a farmer, I’m often focused on the land, the weather, and the needs of my community—but I’ve learned that I can’t pour from an empty cup. Prioritizing my health allows me to better care for the farm, my family, and those we serve. For me, it’s about managing stress, getting adequate rest, and making time to reflect and recharge so I can continue to lead and grow sustainably.”

How I might use this $250 self-care award: ”I would use the $250 award to access wellness services that support my physical and mental recovery, such as massage therapy, chiropractic care, or guided meditation classes. Farming is physically demanding and emotionally taxing, and this type of investment would go a long way toward helping me maintain the energy and clarity needed to manage daily responsibilities and make sound decisions for the future of Bossville Farms.”

Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: "The most important self-care need for me right now is dedicated time and space for physical recovery and mental reset. This includes bodywork for back and joint strain, and quiet time away from daily tasks to rest, reflect, and realign with long-term goals. Access to even short-term wellness tools or retreats would make a meaningful difference in how I show up for my farm, my family, and my broader mission.”
